Freelance projects
Direct, accountable delivery — scope, design, build, and deploy with one point of contact.
About
I'm Joe Morel — a Dominican full-stack developer and telematics engineer based in Santiago, Chile. Since 2015 I've built digital products for more than 100 clients across Chile, the Dominican Republic, and the US.
My path started in electronics and telecommunications — C programs, optical transmitters, network equipment — and grew into modern web engineering and the design work that makes products feel right. That range is my advantage: I'm comfortable from the physical layer to the pixel.
Today I work as a freelancer and with remote teams: building products from scratch, joining existing codebases, or leading the design-to-development cycle for startups.
Languages
Spanish (native) · English (B2)Direct, accountable delivery — scope, design, build, and deploy with one point of contact.
Async-friendly collaboration across time zones — PRs, reviews, and clean handoffs.
MVP definition, design systems, and the pragmatism to ship and iterate fast.
One person across Figma and the codebase — fewer handoffs, faster cycles.
Technical range
My engineering base covers C, electronics, and network fundamentals; my day-to-day is TypeScript, React, and cloud infrastructure. I like understanding the whole stack underneath a product.
From C and electronics to modern web apps.

Experience
Telexa Group
Led the engineering and development area: web platforms, digital product structuring, and technical validation for telecom and IPTV projects.
Metriqz
Designed and built business and financial platforms — including RiesgoPro — from Figma to production with Next.js and TypeScript.
TuSubastaRD
Own product and frontend for a live vehicle auction platform: 1,000+ vehicles auctioned, 200+ registered users.
Fyco Telecomunicaciones
Quality control and interoperability testing for FTTH/IPTV equipment across Huawei, Nokia, and FiberHome.

A device that detects fiber breaks over long distances and reports them through a web platform. Raspberry Pi and optical transmitters at the hardware level, C and I2C underneath, Vue and the Telegram API at the surface — developed with collaborators from the University System of Maryland and Optical Zonu Corp.
The bridge
I bridge product design, frontend systems, and real-world fiber infrastructure. The same person who designs the interface understands the network behind it — from Figma components to GPON splitters.
Let's work together
I'm open to freelance projects, remote roles, and collaborations with product teams and startups.
